Underwhelming stay. Questionable value.
aggressive stafflounge food
the imperial lounge was not what i expected. the food provided during cocktail hour resembled a lunchable. additionally, the staff seemed overly aggressive when asking for my room number. i usually travel alone and would never audibly share my room number in a public area.

The hotel is near Union Square, so the location is very central. I found a good price, and the room quality was fantastic. The surrounding area is acceptable. I felt safe, but I remained aware late at night.

rainfall showerinconvenient location
The room i booked had a small issue, it lacked a proper showerhead. instead, there was only a rainfall shower, and i prefer more focused water pressure for washing my hair. The front desk didn't seem too concerned. the hotel's location ended up being less convenient than i hoped for exploring other parts of the city. i thought it would be more central, but i had to rely on rideshares more than expected.

The location is very convenient. They also provided slippers and complimentary water, which I greatly appreciated.
The reception staff seemed rude. I felt unwelcome as a solo traveler. They did not make eye contact and stared at their computer screen when speaking with me, which I did not like.

motion sensinginadequate desk
the motion-sensing hvac system was a real letdown. i found it quite annoying that there was no consistent heating or cooling overnight. the room became uncomfortably stuffy (it really affected my sleep quality). also, the lack of a proper desk in the beautiful king room made working difficult. i had to balance my laptop on the small table and that wasn't ideal.
